Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that starting therapy or seeking psychological support can bring up many questions. This section is designed to provide clear, transparent answers about our services, practitioners, and approach to care, so you can feel informed and confident as you take the next step toward your well-being.

FAQ

How do I know which practitioner or service is right for me?

We begin with a personalized intake process to understand your background, concerns, and preferences. Based on this information, we match you with a practitioner and service that align best with your therapeutic goals and personality.

What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session focuses on building an understanding of your current challenges, goals, and expectations. Together, you and your practitioner will develop a plan for treatment, discuss the recommended approach, and establish a comfortable, collaborative foundation for your work together.

Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

We currently offer secure teletherapy (virtual) sessions.

How long is each session, and how often will I meet with my therapist?

Sessions typically last 50 - 60 minutes, and most clients meet with their therapist once per week. The frequency and duration of therapy depend on your individual needs and treatment goals, which will be discussed during your initial consultation.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of our practice. All sessions and records are kept strictly confidential, in accordance with professional ethics and privacy laws. Exceptions to confidentiality are rare and only occur when required by law to ensure safety.

Do you accept insurance?

We are currently a self-pay practice, but we are in the process of applying for commercial insurance plans in select markets. For self-pay clients, many are able to receive partial reimbursement through their insurance company. We provide detailed receipts (superbills) to assist with this process.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please see our cancellation policy, as set forth in the Fees page.

How long does therapy last?

The duration of therapy varies based on your goals, the nature of your concerns, and your progress. Some clients benefit from short-term, focused therapy, while others engage in longer-term treatment for deeper personal growth and insight.

How do I get started?

You can begin by contacting us directly or completing our online inquiry form. Our client coordinator will reach out to schedule an initial consultation and guide you through the next steps toward beginning therapy.

How will this help me?

While each person's experience is different, most clients experience benefits depending on their commitment to their care. Examples of benefits include (i) the potential to increase understanding of your relationship patterns, (ii) gaining skills to cope with the difficulties of everyday life and discovering more about what is important to you, (iii) learning about habits and routines that inform important decisions in your life. It is important to remember that, while outcomes are not guaranteed, most clients see positive results with continued care.
